BISX operates an order-driven market with buyers and sellers posting orders in compliance with the BISX Trading Rules. When a buy and sell order match in accordance with the BISX Trading Rules, a trade takes place.
Role of BISX Broker Dealer Members
BISX Broker-Dealers have completed an exhaustive application process and have been approved by the BISX Membership Committee to serve as Broker-Dealer Members of the Exchange. These are the only entities able to place buy and sell orders on the Exchange.
Role of BISX Sponsor Members
BISX Sponsor Members have completed an exhaustive application process and have been approved by the BISX Membership Committee to serve as Sponsor Members of the Exchange. These entities are the exclusive Members that are able to introduce applicant Mutual Funds to the Exchange for consideration for listing.
Trading Environment
BISX uses the QuickTrade Trading System developed by the Novita Software Company. The system has been customized to trade according to the BISX Trading Rules and meets international standards regarding trade execution, transparency and the ability to connect with other systems.
